[ it takes a while for daisy to respond. between being unconscious, receiving medical care, and those first few hours of desperate, exhausted sleep, daisy's awol from the world for about twelve hours before she manages to feel human enough to filter through messages left on her name.

bobbi's is one of the first she responds to. ]

illya and i were bringing some kids back to the safehouse
i'd found them stuck in a bedroom unable to get out
we managed to get away from the soldier patrolling the building [ thanks to Somebody literally snapping their neck... ] but we got tailed by a security drone
i tried to take it out

[ in her defense, she still feels like it was the right thing to do. illya was better equipped to protect the kids if anything were to happen to her; without the powers daisy's used to back home, she's not sure she can say the same for herself if their situations had been reversed. ]

the una really doesn't like it when you mess with their equipment

getting away from three soldiers dispatched to take me out was not so easy

if i hadn't taken it out, it would have followed us right back to the safehouse and then everyone there would have been compromised

i know it was stupid, but it was the only thing that made sense

i told myself it was for the kids, and that if something were to happen to one of us, he'd be better at protecting them
but all i could think about was him breaking his hand when he fought one of the soldiers and i just couldn't let him go out there
